Rise and Shine: A Morning Practice of Meditation, Breathwork, and Chanting
Saturday September 7, 2024 7:15am - 8:15am EDT
Rise and Shine is a one-hour workshop that invites students to start their day with a nourishing and energizing yoga practice. In this workshop, we will explore the other limbs of yoga beyond physical postures (asanas), including meditation, breathwork, and chanting.

By incorporating these elements into our practice, we will awaken our senses, calm our minds, and connect more deeply with ourselves and our surroundings. Through guided meditation and pranayama (breathwork) exercises, we
will cultivate a sense of inner stillness and focus.

We will also explore the power of chanting, using our voices to create vibrations that can help release tension and
promote mental clarity. This practice is suitable for all levels and will leave students feeling refreshed, invigorated, and ready to embrace the day ahead.

Self-Care: A Foundation for Connection and Community
Saturday September 7, 2024 8:30am - 9:45am EDT
We all know the importance of self-care when life is out of balance. When you are sick or injured you may turn to nourishing foods, rest or schedule a massage. While these are wonderful tools to bring us back into balance when we are under stress, Ayurveda teaches the importance of self-care as part of daily living. When self-care is embodied in our thoughts and actions, it changes how we show up for the world and the impact that we have on our relationships. Through this workshop, you will learn the fundamental value of prioritizing self-care as a tool for building healthy communities and practical ways to bring self-care into your everyday life.

Healing ourselves, Healing the World: An awakened embodied relationship with all of life
Sunday September 8, 2024 12:45pm - 2:00pm EDT
Each one of us, as distinct individual selves, is a unique manifestation of the Absolute/God/Great Oneness. But how can this be true with all of our human flaws and difficulties? Can we reconcile this deep truth without abandoning ourselves in favor of some idealized version of who we are always striving to be?

Can we awaken to this Reality, while we are still here, on this planet, without abandoning the fragility of our human existence?

To experience this Wholeness, we learn that our personal selves, including our difficulties and suffering, need a home as well. That home is where our humanness and the Absolute touch, and it's where the gift of Non-duality is experienced.

We will use meditation, lecture, inner reflection and spiritual practice to immerse you in the place where our humanity and the Great Oneness meet.

Closing Cacao Ceremony & Kula Circle
Sunday September 8, 2024 2:30pm - 4:30pm EDT
Since ancient times cacao has been used ceremonially to connect with the infinite presence of love. I'd love for you to join me and experience my cacao ceremony. It will be a ceremony to open the heart, give thanks, heal, express creatively and rejoice with the spirit of the cacao. Woven with heart songs, prayers, sound healing, intentions and laughter, the ceremony is a time to express gratitude for the cacao spirit and allow for that spirit to blossom infinite possibilities within you.
“Chocolate is a divine, celestial drink, the sweat of the stars, the vital seed, divine nectar, the drink of the gods, panacea and universal medicine.” – Geronimo Piperni
The Cacao that will be used is a very special type that a cacao shaman selected personally for its energetic qualities. It comes from Guatemala, the heartland of the Mayan people who have used it for millennia. We’ll learn about cacao’s origins, history, heath benefits and energetic/spiritual qualities and get to experience pure cacao with new levels of awareness and appreciation. Come experience what the Mayans consider, the food of the Gods.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPERIENCE DURING A CACAO CEREMONY:
  • A heart opening journey of oneness, love and ecstasy
  • Healing therapy – releasing blocks, recognizing patterns, following your heart
  • Finding a connection to your highest self, your own power and truth
  • A shamanic or spiritual journey
  • A space to enter into meditation – being able to silence the mind, connect to the wisdom and spirit within you
  • A balance of masculine and feminine energies in the body
  • Enhanced creativity
Ananda has been leading cacao ceremonies since 2010.  While traveling in Guatemala in 2009, Ananda had a profound experience with the spirit of cacao. He went on to connect with a cacao shaman in Lake Atitlan who shared with him his way of holding cacao ceremonies and how to connect with the spirit of cacao. Upon Ananda's return to the states, he began to share ceremonial space with this special cacao he brought back from Guatemala.  Since 2010, he has shared over 100 ceremonies both nationally and internationally and even led a cacao ceremony intensive at the Esalen Institute.
